If you throw me a ball, I will definitely not catch it. I will probably trip over my feet. As for the ball, it is likely to hit me in the head.
If you hand me some art supplies, neither of us will be able to decipher the finished product. Or it might end up like the only time I got an A in art: My teacher mistook my realist painting of a cat for a modernist interpretation of a cow. Really, it was a win-win for both of us.
But if you give me a beat, I'll dance. (Yep, that's me up there, leading a Girl Guide event with the London Lightning Dance Pack. Can you guess the song we're dancing to?) I'll play along to the beat. I'll even sing some harmony to the melody I made up.

The performing arts are a major hobby of mine, ever since my parents started me on the piano at age 4 (I had really big hands...and feet - is that why I trip over them?)

I so appreciate everything that you have done with [my daughter] over the past few months. You are supportive and positive and have taught her a huge amount – not just dance technique and moves, but more importantly, that errors will happen and that is okay – what matters is how to deal with them afterwards. So, thank you, thank you, thank you! |
